User Setup

During desktop setup, specify a root user password.

After logging in, add my non-root local user (E.g., drew) to /etc/sudoers file:

su
# <Enter 'root' user password>
adduser drew sudo
exit

# Restart computer so it picks up these changes.
systemctl reboot

Install chezmoi and git:

sudo apt install -y git curl
sh -c "$(curl -fsLS https://get.chezmoi.io)" -- -b /usr/local/bin

Download and install dotfiles. Chezmoi hooks install packages and dev environment dependencies:

chezmoi init https://github.com/Drew-Daniels/dotfiles.git --apply
systemctl reboot

Package lists are defined in ~/.local/share/chezmoi/.chezmoidata/packages.yaml.

Apply package data changes with:

chezmoi apply
