  • references/virtual-models.md: "Only team Owners and Members can manage Virtual Models, but any team member can call one." is too broad. A Member who did not create a Virtual Model cannot edit or remove it. Corrected to: Owners and Members can create; only the creator or a team Owner can edit, archive, remove, or restore one; any team member can call one. Source: https://vercel.com/docs/ai-gateway/models-and-providers/virtual-models (last_updated 2026-10-02), Permissions: "Team Owners and Members can create virtual models. Only the member who created a virtual model or a team Owner can edit, archive, remove, or restore it, in the dashboard or the CLI."
  • references/evaluation.md: "Gateway state can be a string, object, or array." This is still true for Gateway's HTTP shape. But since ai 7.0.133, AI SDK experimental_decide treats an array passed directly as state as ordered decision state parts, so passing a raw JSON array through AI SDK now means something different. Added a short version note telling users to wrap JSON arrays in an object or a json part. Sources: https://ai-sdk.dev/docs/ai-sdk-core/decisions ("State can be a string, JSON object, or an array of ordered text, file, and JSON parts."), and the ai 7.0.133 changelog (vercel/ai packages/ai/CHANGELOG.md): "Arrays passed directly as state now contain decision state parts. Wrap JSON arrays in an object or a json part."

Verification

run_plugin_checks: build, typecheck, validate, and test all passed (1279 tests pass, 0 fail).

Test updates

None.

Not changed

  • https://vercel.com/docs/ai-gateway/modalities/decision (last_updated 2026-10-07) still says state accepts a string, an object, or an array, with no mention of AI SDK state parts. This is docs lag, not skill drift, so the Gateway HTTP wording stays as it is.
  • vercel ai-gateway CLI claims (virtual-models, budgets --default, setup flags) were checked against https://vercel.com/docs/cli/ai-gateway. The public vercel/vercel default branch has no virtual-models command source, while the published CLI is 65.2.0, so I couldn't check these claims against the shipped code.
  • https://ai-gateway.vercel.sh/v1 and https://ai-gateway.vercel.sh/typesafe return 404 to link checks. They are API base URLs, not docs pages, so they were left alone.

Drift scan update 2026-10-29

  • Money flag renamed to --amount. Retired text: "vercel ai-gateway api-keys create --limit 500 ...", "budgets set team --limit 500" (and the other budgets set ... --limit examples), "--limit needs Vercel CLI 59.13+; older CLIs use the deprecated --budget", and in coding-agents.md "--budget <AMOUNT> and --refresh-period <PERIOD>". Correction: the examples now use --amount, with version notes (--amount needs CLI 65.4+; older CLIs use --limit, or --budget before 59.13). Source: vercel/vercel packages/cli/CHANGELOG.md, 65.4.0 (npm vercel@latest is 65.7.0): "On ai-gateway api-keys create, ai-gateway budgets set, and ai-gateway budgets defaults set, the money option is now --amount, so --limit there also warns." For ai-gateway setup, packages/cli/src/commands/ai-gateway/command.ts says: "// Hidden: --budget is the old name of --amount."
  • Subcommands renamed. Retired text: "api-keys create/list/inspect/remove", "virtual-models create/list/inspect/edit/remove/restore", "rules add/list/edit/remove", and "The CLI supports create, list, inspect, edit, remove, and restore." Correction: the commands are now api-keys revoke, virtual-models update/delete, and rules update. Each row gets a version note: update needs CLI 64.4+ and revoke/delete need 64.6+; older CLIs use edit/remove. Sources:
    • CHANGELOG 64.4.0: "ai-gateway rules update, and ai-gateway virtual-models update. The old names (edit, configure, config) still work and print a deprecation warning."
    • CHANGELOG 64.6.0: "Name commands that take something away delete, remove, or revoke, by what they take away".
    • In command.ts, revoke lists aliases: ['remove', 'rm', 'delete'], and virtual-models delete lists aliases: ['rm', 'del', 'remove'],.
  • Virtual Model permissions. Retired text: "Only team Owners and Members can manage Virtual Models". Correction: Owners and Members can create one, but only its creator or a team Owner can edit, archive, remove, or restore it. Source: https://vercel.com/docs/ai-gateway/models-and-providers/virtual-models (last_updated 2026-10-02): "can edit, archive, remove, or restore it, in the dashboard or the CLI".

Verification

run_plugin_checks passed all four steps: build, typecheck, validate (all checks OK), and test (1279 pass, 0 fail).

Test updates

None. tests/fixtures/pattern-fixtures.json still has budgets set team --limit 500 as a bash-pattern match input. It still matches, and the deprecated flag still works.

Same fact elsewhere (not changed)

  • skills/vercel-cli/references/agent-and-ai.md and its upstream/ source still show api-keys create ... --budget 500. That text is different and lives in an overlay skill, so it needs an upstream resync there.

Not changed

  • The docs pages lag the CLI. https://vercel.com/docs/cli/ai-gateway (last_updated 2026-09-17) and the Virtual Models page still show --limit, --budget, edit, and remove. The skill now follows the shipped CLI.
  • I left the other claims alone (decision models, model discovery, budgets, and coding-agent setup flags). They match current docs and source.

Drift scan update 2026-11-02

  • skills/ai-gateway/references/virtual-models.md: "Only team Owners and Members can manage Virtual Models, but any team member can call one." Owners and Members can create Virtual Models, but only the member who created one, or a team Owner, can edit, archive, remove, or restore it. As written, an agent could tell any Member they can edit or remove a colleague's Virtual Model. Source: https://vercel.com/docs/ai-gateway/models-and-providers/virtual-models (last_updated 2026-10-02), Permissions section: "Team Owners and Members can create virtual models. Only the member who created a virtual model or a team Owner can edit, archive, remove, or restore it, in the dashboard or the CLI."

Verification

run_plugin_checks: build, typecheck, validate, and test all pass (1279 tests pass, 0 fail).

Not changed

  • Docs sitemap lastmod shows no cited or body-linked AI Gateway page changed since the skill's last commit (2026-10-19). No other claims were edited.
  • The check_links 404s for https://ai-gateway.vercel.sh/v1, /typesafe, /coding-agent, /claude-code, and /v1/models/{creator}/{model}/endpoints are API base URLs, not docs pages, so they are not broken links.
  • The CLI subcommand inventory (api-keys, budgets including --default, models, virtual-models, rules, setup, leaderboard) matches packages/cli/src/commands/ai-gateway in vercel/vercel.
