fix(api): build detection list responses from the stored instant - #4897
The detection list, detail and recent endpoints rebuilt each detection's time from the Date and Time text of a legacy Note, which carries no UTC offset. For one occurrence of the repeated hour when clocks go back, the timestamp in the response and the weather and moon phase matched to it came out wrong: in New York the second 01:30 showed -04:00 instead of -05:00, and the weather row of the other occurrence was used.
The hourly, species, search, all, advanced-search, detail and recent handlers now read through the detection repository and build every response field from its result. On a v2 database the result carries the stored detected_at, so the two detections in the repeated hour show the same date and time and each has its own offset in timestamp, and each gets its own hourly weather row. Response shapes are unchanged for ordinary rows. A legacy database stores only offset-free text, so there both detections still get the first occurrence's offset; the README says so.
The page cache now holds the repository results instead of notes (documented as read-only), and its keys are unchanged. The species handler validates the date before calling the repository and every search call sets a positive limit. A missing detection id answers 404 for both the legacy and the v2 not-found error. An ended request is answered as 499 or 408 without logging an error. The batch resolve endpoint, which feeds bulk delete, review and lock, now refuses a malformed date for every query type (the all and search queries still take the search box shortcuts); a malformed date used to drop the date filter or, for species and hourly queries on a v2 database, select every date. On the legacy store a row whose date and time text does not parse now fails the read (the list answers 500, the detail 404), which is accepted legacy degradation.
New tests cover both occurrences of the repeated hour in New York, Helsinki and Lord Howe for each endpoint, including the weather match, a parity check between the legacy bridge and the direct result for ordinary, spectrogram-only and false-positive rows, the cache, and not-found, invalid date and cancellation handling.

Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Detection timestamps now preserve the stored time and UTC offset, distinguishing detections during repeated daylight-saving hours.
Weather matching and moon-phase information now correspond to the detection’s stored instant.
Legacy records without an offset continue to use the first occurrence’s offset during repeated hours.
Batch requests now return a clear error when a provided date is invalid.
Detection list, detail, and recent responses now use consistent detection data.
Documentation
Clarified timestamp formatting and how date and time relate to timestamps in detection responses.
… detection handler comments
Skip the error log for a direct load whose request ended, answer an ended
GetRecentDetections request as 499 or 408, and cover the repository route
guard and the legacy unparseable-time degradation with tests.

Walkthrough
Detection API v2 now reads detections through the repository and caches result pointers. Responses use each result’s stored timestamp and select weather by that instant. Batch detection resolution validates dates before resolving IDs.

List, search, detail, and recent reads use repository results. Empty text searches use SearchAdvanced. Cached pages store result pointers, and loaders pass their context to repository calls. Route registration checks for both the datastore and repository.
Response conversion uses repository results and their stored timestamps. Weather selection uses the same instant. Tests cover repeated-hour offsets, repository reads, cancellation, and response parity with legacy notes.
Batch date validation internal/api/v2/detections/detections_batch.go, internal/api/v2/detections/detections_batch_test.go
Batch resolution validates dates before querying. Invalid dates return HTTP 400. Recognized shortcuts are accepted for query types that support them.
No actionable merge-blocking risk remains in the reviewed change.

Assert the forwarded date range in the shortcut test.
The all + week case accepts any AdvancedSearchFilters and checks only the returned count. It can pass if batch resolution omits or misapplies the shortcut range. Capture the filters and assert the expected DateRange, or use an out-of-period fixture and assert the selected IDs.

🟡 Medium risk · Repository-backed detection reads change timestamps, weather matching, and search semantics; regressions could return incorrect detection data or alter batch selections.
Detection list, detail, and recent endpoints now build timestamps, weather matches, and moon phase from the stored instant instead of legacy Note text, so repeated daylight-saving hours show the correct UTC offset. No issues found.

Description
The detection list, detail and recent endpoints rebuilt each detection's time from the
DateandTimetext of a legacyNote, which carries no UTC offset. For one occurrence of the repeated hour when clocks go back, thetimestampin the response and the weather and moon phase matched to it came out wrong: in New York the second 01:30 showed-04:00instead of-05:00, and the weather row of the other occurrence was used. The hourly, species, search, all, advanced-search, detail and recent handlers now read through the detection repository and build every response field from its result. On a v2 database the result carries the stored
detected_at, so the two detections in the repeated hour show the samedateandtimeand each has its own offset intimestamp, and each gets its own hourly weather row. Response shapes are unchanged for ordinary rows. A legacy database stores only offset-free text, so there both detections still get the first occurrence's offset; the README says so.The page cache now holds the repository results instead of notes (documented as read-only), and its keys are unchanged.
