Consider switching the storage backend to OPFS

At the moment, this (amazing) project uses IndexedDB as its backend, which has quite some overhead and isn't perfectly suited for the task. Have you considered switching the backend to the OPFS, which is cross-browser and should bring some performance benefits, especially when run from a worker with the synchronous methods.
