This repository contains the source files for the communication materials of the Interdisciplinary Brazilian Symposium on Agent-Based Models (SIMBRA).
We work exclusively with open-source tools and platforms to ensure accessibility and collaboration. Some of the key tools we use are listed below.
Adobe files are strictly prohibited in our workflow. Instead, we rely on the following open-source tools:
- GIMP: Open-source bitmap image editor. A solid substitute for Adobe Photoshop.
- Inkscape: Open-source vector graphics editor and a capable alternative to Adobe Illustrator.
- Audacity: Open-source audio editor, a practical alternative to Adobe Audition.
- Kdenlive: Open-source video editor and a robust alternative to Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Synfig Studio: Open-source 2D animation software, a strong alternative to Adobe Animate.
- Blender: Open-source 3D creation suite and a comprehensive alternative to Adobe Dimension.
Our main tool for document rendering is Quarto, chosen for its language-agnostic design and tight integration with Pandoc.
Domain registration and management is handled through Porkbun.
For image hosting, we usually go with imgbb.
For webpage hosting, we use GitHub Pages or Netlify.
