@aprilandjan since Jun 4, 2024 I tried to use the same codebase on linux/mac/windows. the code as it sits now didn't work and the api couldn't easily be unified because of complications...i forget the core issue but I ended up using another library for macos.
this has been sitting around for a bit. If you want me to clean it up as one commit I can do that.
