This is the official repository for the identity of the LutaML project.
LutaML is a universal data modeller that facilitates the following use cases:
-
A universal language for representing data models
-
A universal language for representing data model instances
-
Transmodeling of data modelling languages, such as from UML to/from other formats
-
Schema generation from data modelling languages to serialization models
-
Parsing serializations into serialization models and transformation of them back to data model instances
The LutaML graphical logo is represented through:
-
a set of 9 stacked boxes, where each box represents the abstraction of data. The arrangement of the boxes in a grid echos the ability of data models to dictate data into a certain shape.
-
The color theme is blue/white, which is the color of the blue-white porcelain and kaolin clay. The name "LutaML" originates from the Latin word "lutam", for "clay", to reflect that the LutaML stack is inherently designed to be malleable and flexible in creating containers or molding like clay and its baked form, porcelain.
-
7 of the 9 boxes are colored in the combination of blue and white to reflect the shape characteristic of the Han character "土", indicating its basic mission and the ability to be the foundation of data modelling and processing.
-
2 of the 9 boxes are at the edge and are in green/red colors but slightly transparent. The different colors indicate that they are transformed or extended models based on the foundational models, and serve different purposes while belonging and aligning to the same LutaML stack.
-
The colors of the image are sourced directly from the color palette of the of the porcelain of the Ming dynasty Cheng-Hua period, namely, blue-white porcelain (blue, white) and the three-colored porcelain (blue, green, red).
