While returning errors to trigger requeue is reasonable, there are a few concerns with this approach:

The deletion path (line 67) still only logs errors without triggering requeue. This creates inconsistent error handling between update and delete operations. If cost tracking errors warrant immediate requeue, both paths should handle errors the same way.

Consider whether immediate requeue on every cost tracking error is necessary, given that
stateRetryPeriodalready provides periodic reconciliation. Immediate requeue could cause rapid retry loops on persistent issues (e.g., nodepool lookup failures). -
If you proceed with this change, the deletion error handling should also return errors for consistency, and you may want to consider implementing exponential backoff to avoid excessive retries.
