checking 'enable in dialogue' causing brower and sync errors

Problem description

with night mode enabled and 'enable in dialog' turned on, when I click browser I get an error code. If I uncheck 'enable in dialog' then everything works find. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing both anki (2.1.15 to 2.1.19 to 2.1.11 currently) and removing night mode via anki settings as well as going to my appdata and completely removing nightmode add on and then adding it back. I only have the night mode add on, no others.
