Where do the links go off the front page?

I'm creating the structure for the front page now and I'm thinking about where the links should point to. I have a couple options I can think of:

I create the pages on Wordpress and we link to them
We host my front page and content on another server and only link to Wordpress for the blog, and to external pages like the iilab blog for some projects
...or, 3rd option,
The dog ate my website

Thoughts?
