Some stores carry GOES ABI fixed-grid x/y (scan angles in radians, within +/-0.16) but no grid mapping, units or satellite name, so the grid cannot be placed.

  • describeVariable flags these as abiLike and adds a note asking for a choice.
  • A new Assume select (shown only for such stores) offers GOES-East (75.0 W) or GOES-West (137.0 W). The choice places the grid as +proj=geos +h=35786023 +sweep=x on GRS80, labelled as assumed, and is kept in the hash as ::assume=goes_east|goes_west.
  • New fixture abi.zarr (scan angles, no units, no grid mapping) checked against PROJ with the GOES-West assumption; npm test passes (12 stores).

Nothing is assumed by default.

Stores with ABI scan-angle x/y and no grid mapping get an opt-in
Assume choice (GOES-East 75W, GOES-West 137W) that places the grid
as geos with sweep x; kept in the hash as ::assume=.
