The README says what the release ships: 227 of 400 sources entered, 1740 to 2024; the PyPI route, with the MCP client entry for `phylohist-mcp`; the architecture figure by absolute URL, since PyPI cannot resolve a relative path; and the licence paragraph now says MIT covers everything in the repository and the package, the compilation under `data/` and the generated table included, with a request to cite (`CITATION.cff`, new). `anthropic` moves to an `eval` dependency group: only the two eval scripts import it and neither ships in the wheel, so an install no longer pulls the client library. The lock file follows. Checked by building the wheel, installing it in a fresh environment and driving `phylohist-mcp` over stdio: initialize, tools/list (15 tools) and a `history` call answer. A client shows the version beside the server's name, and here it names the snapshot of the table that answers, since an installed copy carries the table as of its build. `phylohist.mcp.version` reads the package metadata and is empty in a checkout that was never installed. Update the README (Claude did one pass, then I did another). Also make the MCP server report the underlying package version.
