I build backend systems, mostly voice infrastructure and LLM pipelines lately. I like working close to the metal: the kind of debugging where "why is this 500ms" is a real question and the answer involves a flame graph.
I also contributed a patch to the Linux kernel (ALSA/HDA subsystem), once reverse-engineered a proprietary printer protocol from USB captures for fun, and write about Linux and systems work on my blog (~1,000 monthly readers).
