Download does not finish

Copernicus Connect uses the WEkEO HDA service for data download.
Due to WEkEO’s quota policy, a single request cannot exceed 500 files per hour.
If you need to download more, you must split your requests into smaller batches and wait for the next hourly window.

For details, see the official WEkEO documentation:
Limitations of Requests and Orders – WEkEO Help Center

Login fails

If you are unable to log in:

  1. First, check if you can log in on the WEkEO Portal.

  2. If login to the portal works, test your connection to the WEkEO gateway with this command:

    curl -I https://gateway.prod.wekeo2.eu/hda-broker/gettoken

A successful connection should return an HTTP 405 error. For example:

C:\Users???> curl -I https://gateway.prod.wekeo2.eu/hda-broker/gettoken HTTP/1.1 405 Date: Tue, 09 Sep 2025 13:29:57 GMT Content-Length: 0 Connection: keep-alive X-Gravitee-Client-Identifier: 8f1dff4c6bfcc8c17e357e169f54eaf821a3c66525dd6595444cff2472cc9893 Set-Cookie: paf=1757424598.37.39106.696861|f61207798c974b4601cb50fab83e99c5; Path=/; Secure; HttpOnly; SameSite=None X-WSO2-TraceId: fd652f2b-3cbb-4f4e-ad75-0133ad38e248 X-Frame-Options: DENY X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff Allow: POST,GET,OPTIONS,HEAD Strict-Transport-Security: max-age=31536000; includeSubDomains X-Gravitee-Transaction-Id: 13d69334-862f-49a7-9693-34862fd9a7b2 X-Gravitee-Request-Id: 13d69334-862f-49a7-9693-34862fd9a7b2

User password

The WEkEO username and password used by the HDA client are stored locally in a hidden configuration file called .hdarc.

Location

  • Windows:
    C:\Users\[your username]\.hdarc

  • Linux / macOS:
    /home/[your username]/.hdarc

Make sure hidden files are visible in your file explorer.

Content

The file is a simple text file. Example:

user:myusername password:mypassword
