pi-oh-my

My personal pi setup. This repo is a distributable source tree, not the live agent directory.

Layout

• agent/ — files installed into ~/.pi/agent
• agent/extensions/pi-obsidian-brain — symlink to the Brain-backed pi memory extension
• scripts/install.sh — links agent/* into ~/.pi/agent
• scripts/update.sh — updates this repo, npm dependencies, and pi packages

What this includes

• Agents in agent/agents/
• Prompt templates in agent/prompts/
• Skills in agent/skills/
  • repo-owned skills live here as normal directories
  • shared skills are symlinks to ~/.agents/skills to avoid duplicate pi skill warnings
• Theme files in agent/themes/
• Bash permission preferences in agent/settings.json
• Brain-backed memory extension symlink in agent/extensions/pi-obsidian-brain
• Public pi packages:

Shared skills

Pi loads skills from both ~/.pi/agent/skills and ~/.agents/skills. If the same skill exists as a real directory in both places, pi will report a skill conflict and keeps the ~/.pi/agent copy.

To avoid stale duplicate copies, this repo keeps these shared skills as symlinks to ~/.agents/skills:

Install or sync those shared skills into ~/.agents/skills before using this setup. Repo-owned skills, such as fetching-maven-sources, remain vendored directly in agent/skills.

What this does not include

• auth.json
• Session history
• API keys or provider credentials
• A default provider or model

Requirements

• Node.js and npm
• git
• pi installed from https://pi.dev

Install

Clone this repo somewhere outside ~/.pi/agent:

git clone git@github.com:cmptr/pi-oh-my.git ~/Code/pi-oh-my
cd ~/Code/pi-oh-my

Install the agent config into ~/.pi/agent:

./scripts/install.sh

Configure the Brain-backed memory extension in ~/Code/pi-obsidian-brain/config.json, then start pi:

pi

Then authenticate with /login or configure API keys, and choose your preferred model in pi.

Inside pi, check Brain memory health:

/brain status

Update

From the repo:

./scripts/update.sh

This runs git pull --ff-only, refreshes local npm dependencies if needed, and runs pi update. pi update updates pi packages, including git:github.com/obra/superpowers.

If the Brain memory extension changed, restart pi or run /reload.

Manual update

git pull --ff-only
npm --prefix agent install
pi update
