Problem with availablePSets() and downloadPSet()

Hi,

When I used the "availablePSets()" command, it returns me the following error:

"Error in parse_con(txt, bigint_as_char) :
lexical error: invalid char in json text.
Please use the correct dataset
(right here) ------^"

The same error is reported when I used the "downloadPSet("CTRPv2_2015")" command.

I can't figure out why this error appears. Any suggestion is appreciated!

I can’t reproduce, but the issue seems to be with ORCESTRA backend. We query the API like so to get PSet metadata:

  if (canonical) {
    avail.psets <- fromJSON("http://www.orcestra.ca/api/pset/canonical")
  } else {
    avail.psets <- fromJSON("http://www.orcestra.ca/api/pset/available")
  }

In this case, JSON is expected back but you're getting unexpected text instead.
If the issue still occurs, could you try these curl commands in shell and share if you get back non-JSON responses?

Issue may be due to R Versioning, i.e. R 4.3 has issue whilst R 4.4 does not.
