Thanks for the disclosure and for a clean PR; lint passes. For the sake of objectivity the criteria are checked by AI against the checklist in contributing.md. The bar for a browser extension is around 1,000 users on the store. The Chrome Web Store page shows 5 users, AMO shows 1 daily user, and the repo has 0 stars, so the eligibility signal is not there yet. The Hidden Gem exception does not carry it either. Playing a finished game out against an engine from any position is already available in Lichess's analysis board ("Continue from here"), so what this adds is convenience on the Chess.com board rather than a capability the list lacks. That is a fair thing to build, but the exception is reserved for a distinct problem. The code itself looks solid: fixture-based tests, green CI, 15 releases, engine bundled and running offline. So this is a "not yet". If it picks up users, open a new PR referencing this one with the store count. |

Thanks for the detailed review, and no complaints on the decision. The 1,000-user bar is a fair line to hold, and you're right that the store numbers aren't there yet. Fair point on the Lichess "Continue from here" comparison too. The distinction I was going for is keeping it on the Chess.com board you just played on, without exporting the position elsewhere, but I take the point that convenience isn't the same as a capability the list is missing. I'll keep building and let it pick up users on its own. If it clears the bar, I'll open a fresh PR referencing this one with the updated store count. Thanks again for taking the time. |
Adds an open-source browser extension to Analysis Tools.
Stockfish Continue to Play adds a "Keep Playing" button to a finished Chess.com game. The final position keeps going against Stockfish on the same board, with the engine's strength matched to the opponent's rating. It also works from any earlier move you step back to, so you can play out a losing endgame instead of just reading the engine line.
Disclosure: I wrote it.
Why it fits: it is GPLv3, published on the Chrome Web Store, and the Stockfish WASM build ships inside the package, so it runs with no network access and no remote code. The existing entries cover engine evaluation and post-game reports; this one covers playing a position out, which nothing else in the section does.
Appended to the end of the section, matching the format of the surrounding entries. Happy to move it elsewhere or reword the description.
