Description

@f33lgood

Here is a sharing of a setup with Cursor IDE running in host macOS + UCAgent in Orbstack Ubuntu VM, it may require a minor change of the guidance in README.en.md .

  1. Assume you've done the installation of UCAgent in macOS according to [Help Request] Setup blocked by picker installation on macOS #14, and has a config.yaml ready.

  2. Start the MCP server in the Ubuntu VM. I think the key is to use host 0.0.0.0 instead of 127.0.0.1 .

# Enter Ubuntu VM (in host macOS terminal)
orb

# Navigation to project (in Ubuntu VM terminal)
cd <path_to_ucagent_dir>

# Compile Adder as DUT (in Ubuntu VM terminal)
make init_Adder

# Start MCP server (in Ubuntu VM terminal)
python ucagent.py output/ Adder \
  --config config.yaml \
  -s -hm \
  --tui \
  --mcp-server-no-file-tools \
  --mcp-server-host 0.0.0.0 \
  --no-embed-tools

# It starts TUI in the Ubuntu VM terminal and shows (UnityChip) terminal. You just leave it there.
  1. Host macOS, open <path_to_ucagent_dir>/output folder in Cursor IDE (macOS host), enable MCP client:
# Create `.cursor/mcp.json`
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ucagent": {
      "url": "http://localhost:5000/mcp"
    }
  }
}

# You are expected to see `ucagent` with 12 tools available in Cursor IDE's MCP setting page when enabled.
  1. You should be ready to prompt in the Cursor's AI Chat Panel to start the verification workflow.
