Unified, modular tools for grabbing videos from YouTube or Twitch using yt-dlp.

• snapstream_gui.py — desktop GUI for YouTube/Twitch with quick quality presets (video MP4 or audio MP3) and a detected-formats table.
• snapstream_youtube.py — CLI module for listing/downloading YouTube videos.
• snapstream_twitch.py — CLI module for listing/downloading Twitch streams/VODs.

Requirements

• Python 3.9+
• yt-dlp (pip install yt-dlp)
• FFmpeg in PATH for audio extraction (MP3) and yt-dlp postprocessing
• Tkinter (bundled with most Python builds; if missing, install OS Tk packages)

GUI usage (snapstream_gui.py)

1. Run python snapstream_gui.py.
2. Paste a YouTube or Twitch URL and click Fetch formats.
3. Either pick a format from the table or select a quick quality (Auto/1080p/720p/480p/360p).
4. Choose Video MP4 or Audio only MP3, set audio kbps if needed, and Download.
5. Status and logs appear at the bottom. Output files are saved to the selected folder.

CLI usage

YouTube CLI (snapstream_youtube.py, prog name snap-youtube)

• List formats: python snapstream_youtube.py list <url>
• Download best video+audio: python snapstream_youtube.py get <url>
• Audio only (mp3): python snapstream_youtube.py get <url> --audio mp3 --audio-quality 0
• Pick interactively: python snapstream_youtube.py get <url> --pick

Twitch CLI (snapstream_twitch.py, prog name snap-twitch)

• List formats: python snapstream_twitch.py list <url>
• Download best: python snapstream_twitch.py get <url>
• Audio only: python snapstream_twitch.py get <url> --audio-only --audio-quality 192
• Trim a range: python snapstream_twitch.py get <url> --start 00:10:00 --end 00:20:00
