Cunning

A trick-taking game in where the goal is to play the highest or lowest card of the trick to win points equal to the value of all cards in play.

The game is played with cards with values of 1 through 10, with there being ten 1-value cards continuing in an inversely proportional fashion until the singular 10-value card.

Each player is dealt seven cards to start, and plays seven tricks per round using those seven cards.

The youngest player starts the game, and the player with the lowest score each round starts the next.

At the start of each round, the players can declare whether the high card or low card is trumps, and the gameplay adjusts accordingly.

Each turn, players play a card face down, and everyone reveals their cards at the same time.

The best card played wins, and that player wins an amount of points equal to the value of all cards played.

If two or more players play the same best card, the score is divided between the two and rounded up to the nearest whole number.

The game ends after a player-determined number of rounds, usually five.

There is no physical release, it is currently being play-tested purely online via Tabletop Simulator at present.

Cunning was designed by Pyra Drake and published by Nexxus Drako Multimedia.

DISCLOSURE: The cards have been generated using code created by Claude Sonnet 5. These cards will be replaced with actual playing card style art for a limited-run physical release in the medium-term.
