Welcome to my GitHub! I'm a Technology Executive and Enterprise Architect with over 24 years in technology — a dual career that I am deliberate about: a decade shipping software as a developer, then a decade owning platforms as a DevOps / SRE / platform engineering leader. That combination is how I bridge complex engineering execution and high-level business strategy, safeguarding global platforms that manage 5M+ components and process $50M–$100M+ in daily transactions.

Across global financial and technology leaders — S&P Global, F5 Networks, Bullish, Deutsche Bank and ANZ — I have built and scaled high-performing, multi-region engineering organisations (15+ engineers on follow-the-sun models). My focus: architectural modernisation on AWS/GCP, strict DevSecOps governance, and cloud cost optimisation of 30–40%, while holding uptime firmly at 99.9%+.

I am now practising as a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) — taking AI products from idea to a shipped stack: React frontend, Node.js backend, agent loop, RAG, and production deployment. I am attending Hamza Farooq's Forward Deployed Engineering Bootcamp — AI System Design on Maven, and building RAG-backed systems hands-on.

This is the operating system I bring to FDE work: I can sit with a customer, write the product, and also stand up the platform it has to survive on.

I am practising FDE the way the role is actually used — not wrapping an LLM API in a chat box, but owning the full path from browser to agent to retrieval to deploy.

🔍 Featured project — Lumina Search (lumina-search)
An open-source, Perplexity-style AI answer engine. Ask a question, get a streamed answer with clickable citations — grounded in live web search and in your own documents.

What I built and practised here:

• Agent loop with tools (web_search, fetch_page) and SSE streaming (trace → sources → token → done)
• RAG over uploaded Spaces: parse → chunk → embed → hybrid retrieval (vector + text) with page locators in citations
• Deep search: plan sub-questions, research each, merge into one citation numbering
• Memory, threads, and a TTL'd search cache so follow-ups stay grounded and fast
• Gateway + agent services with contracts, SLA/eval gates, and a deployable stack

I am continuing to deepen RAG — hybrid retrieval, grounding, citations, and evals — as a core FDE skill, not a side experiment.

Architected DevOps and application modernisation strategies for multiple platforms, delivering cloud-native solutions on Kubernetes across AWS and GCP. Owned reliability and operations for large-scale infrastructure across 3 products serving major clients at 99.9%+ uptime.

Led a 100% repository migration from GitLab to GitHub, modernising CI/CD workflows enterprise-wide and standardising quality and security gates. Transitioned legacy network architecture from VPC peering to AWS Transit Gateway.

Led a global team of 15 reliability engineers on a 24/7 follow-the-sun model, and cut the deployment window by 20% through automated validation and parallel deployments.

Reduced cloud spend by identifying unattended workloads and introducing cost governance, while automating provisioning with Terraform and Kubernetes.

Pioneered a microservice-based deployment model on OpenShift, built Dev/CRT/Staging/PROD environments, and drove CI/CD automation with Jenkins and Groovy alongside GCP/AWS migration strategy. Earlier, led React UI engineering and built a reusable React boilerplate framework.

Built luminary-search as an FDE practice project: streamed, cited answers from live web search plus RAG over private documents, deep research, memory, and hybrid retrieval — the shape of product I want to ship next to customers.
