The Monotype Fonts MCP Connector enables AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT to search and discover fonts directly within your conversations using natural language prompts. Find the right typeface for brand identities, marketing campaigns, advertisement creative, or digital products — and get curated recommendations that match your creative intent.
The MCP server exposes a single tool called recommend_fonts, which allows users to search and discover fonts by personality, genre, use case, aesthetics, or industry.
Simply ask your AI assistant:
- "Find me modern sans-serif fonts for campaigns"
- "Fonts for an Instagram post that don't look too corporate"
- "Clean, rounded fonts for my skincare brand"
To use the Fonts Connector, you'll need:
- An AI assistant that supports AI connectors or MCP servers, such as:
- Claude
- Claude Desktop
- Claude Code
Font search and discovery is available on all plans.
- Open Claude (web or desktop).
- Go to Settings → Connectors.
- Find Fonts in the Connectors Directory and click Connect.
- You'll be asked to allow the Fonts Connector. Click Allow.
- Once connected, enable the connector in any conversation using the + button near the prompt.
No authentication required.
Once connected, describe your project or creative direction in plain language. Here are a few prompts to get started:

For all use cases, the server returns a curated list of up to 10 relevant fonts displayed in a carousel view — including font previews, names, metadata (foundry, font family count), and a link to view full details on the MyFonts website.
