FAQ

What is ReverseLab?

An open-source reverse engineering lab: 166 technique articles, 100+ MCP automation tools, and CTF/APK/PE full-chain workflows. Agent-native, directory-as-convention.

What areas does the knowledge base cover?

  • CTF Website (110 articles): JWT, SQLi, SSRF, XSS, CVE, DoS, Payment, Paywall, API attacks
  • APK Reverse (17 articles): DEX, Native/IL2CPP, Frida, crypto, unpacking, repack
  • PE Reverse (19 articles): Ghidra, x64dbg, Triage, YARA/Sigma, Patch, AV evasion
  • General (17 articles): Linux kernel, crypto, PRNG, game cheating, protocol reverse

What are MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools?

MCP is a standard protocol for AI models to interact with external tools. ReverseLab's 100+ MCP tools let AI agents directly invoke reverse engineering tools — from HTTP probing to Ghidra headless analysis to Frida script execution.

How do AI agents use ReverseLab?

Agent loads context chain (CLAUDE.md → AGENTS.md → AI-USAGE.md → board/AI-USAGE.md), detects signals, queries kb_router, reads matched articles via kb_read_file, then executes the MCP tools mapped in each article.

How to install?

git clone https://github.com/LING71671/open-reverselab.git
cd open-reverselab
.\scripts\misc\bootstrap.ps1
.\scripts\misc\install_tools.ps1 -CTF -Android -Windows -Common

Can ReverseLab be used for malicious purposes?

No. ReverseLab is licensed under GPL-3.0-only and is intended for authorized security education, CTF competitions, security research, and defensive analysis only.

How to contribute?
