The whole serialisation / deserialisation process is more complex than I would like, and it concerns me that we may end up with apparently random failures as a result of it, or worse, strange things happening for users.
I'm not sure how best to test for it - there's an element of soak testing about it, and it may need to go beyond what this test application is designed for - but would like to open the discussion at least.
