New discord-bot worker: members with an allowed role submit tasks from an allowed channel via /task (repo autocomplete). The bot opens a thread per task, posts the result there, and treats /task in a task thread as a follow-up. Sessions use the Claude Agent harness by default so a connected Claude subscription can pay for them. Control plane: register discord-bot as a service, actor namespace, callback destination, and message/spawn source; grant it actorless reads of repos, events, and artifacts. Terraform: enable_discord_bot and discord_* variables, worker, KV, service-auth secret, control-plane binding, and tests. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Post a status message in the task thread when a prompt is sent, edit it with elapsed time and recent steps as tool-call callbacks arrive (with a typing indicator), and mark it finished before posting the result. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Correlate progress records with the control-plane message ID.
The follow-up path calls startProgress. The control plane accepts another prompt while one is processing by queueing it as a separate message with its own messageId. Completion callbacks include that ID.
The KV record still uses only status:${sessionId}:${channelId}. finishProgress does not receive or compare the callback messageId. Therefore, the first completion can delete and finish the second prompt's status record. Later tool-call updates for the second prompt can then be ignored.
Return the control-plane messageId from sendPrompt and store it in a separate field from the Discord status message ID. Before replacing an existing record, mark its Discord status as finished or superseded. In finishProgress, leave the current record unchanged when the callback's messageId does not match the stored prompt ID.

Split repoFullName on the last /.
params.repoFullName.split("/") splits on the first /. If the string has more than one /, the code drops every segment after the second. The coding guidelines require one of two things: the shared repository identity helpers, or a split on the last /.

Test the actual disabled default.
This override forces enable_discord_bot to false. The disabled_by_default run therefore passes even if the Terraform variable’s default changes to true. Move the enabling override into the runs that need it, and omit enable_discord_bot from this run. Terraform applies file-level variables to every run and lets run-level values override them. Enforce the model requirement for the Claude harness.
If discord_bot_harness is "claude", a non-Anthropic model passes Terraform validation. A catalog model such as openai/gpt-5.5 is rejected during session creation and produces a visible Discord error. The cited openai/gpt-4o value is not in the current catalog, so the control plane silently replaces it with its default model before compatibility checking.
Reject non-Anthropic models when the Claude harness is selected, or define a supported conversion before deployment.

- Progress state is keyed per session instead of per prompt, and its read-modify-write in KV isn't atomic. This causes a real bug when someone sends a follow-up while a prompt is running. Putting the status message id in the callback context removes the KV layer entirely.
- Duplicated logic that already has a canonical home: the callback payload schemas, the tool-name normalisation, the repo owner/name split, and the harness default.
- Control-plane source routing gains a nested ternary, and Discord callbacks get no payload validation on the control-plane side. This should become a per-source table.
Smaller points that don't have an inline comment:
pull-request-analytics-store.ts:sourceRowSchemalists the source enum again; reusespawnSourceSchema.- The
task/prompt/reponames are defined inscripts/register-commands.mjsand repeated as literals inindex.ts. Export one command definition and import it in both. callbacks.tsimportssessionUrlfromtask.tsjust to build a URL. Move it into a small module.- The
interactionshandler inindex.tscomputes access before branching on type, then handles autocomplete, then rejects non-commands, then handles denial. Aswitch (interaction.type)withhandleAutocomplete/handleCommandwould read top to bottom.
Done well: signature verification is correct and fails closed, an empty role list denies everyone, and the Terraform validation is solid.

Bug: this key is per session, not per prompt. Say someone sends a follow-up /task in the thread while the first prompt is still running:
startProgressoverwrites this record with the new status message.- The first prompt's
/completecallsfinishProgresson the same key. - That marks the second prompt's message "Finished" and deletes its record.
- Every later tool call for the second prompt does nothing.
The header comment says the record exists "since tool-call callbacks carry no message id". But the bot writes the callback context itself, and that context is per prompt and comes back on every tool_call and /complete. Suggest adding statusMessageId and startedAt to DiscordCallbackContext and deleting statusRecordSchema, readRecord, writeRecord, statusKey and the TTL. recordStep and finishProgress then just edit a known message.
The trade-off is the five-step history. Either show only the latest step, or keep a small KV list keyed by statusMessageId. Both options fix the mis-keying.

This read-modify-write isn't atomic with finishProgress, and both run in separate waitUntil calls. If this call reads the record before finishProgress deletes it and writes after, it recreates the record. The edit below then sets the message back to "⏳ Working…" after it was marked Finished, and the stray record stays in KV for 24h. The design suggested in the comment on line 34 avoids this.

This fixes a bug in the shared summarizeToolCall (OpenCode's lowercase tool names and filePath) in one consumer only. slack-bot already has another version of the same workaround (FILE_ARG_KEYS in activity-status.ts). Can we make summarizeToolCall in shared/completion/extractor.ts handle both harnesses and delete this?

These two schemas copy linearCompletionCallbackPayloadSchema and linearToolCallCallbackPayloadSchema field for field. The copies are also looser: plain z.object instead of strictObject, and no isFinite refine on timestamp. Suggest making the shared schemas generic over the context schema, e.g. completionCallbackPayloadSchema(ctx) in shared/types/session-api.ts, and using them for both bots. The control plane can then use the same schemas to validate Discord payloads (see the comment on callback-notification-service.ts).
| }, | ||
| traceId: string | ||

| const [repoOwner, repoName] = params.repoFullName.split("/"); |
There was a problem hiding this comment.
split("/") breaks the nested-owner rule in AGENTS.md. For a group/subgroup/repo owner, repoName becomes subgroup. The root cause is in repos.ts: it reduces ControlPlaneRepo (which already has owner and name) to fullName strings, and this line splits them apart again. Cache the structured { owner, name, fullName } objects instead, and this split goes away.

| let progress: { sessionId: string; channelId: string } | undefined; |

handleTask handles both the follow-up and the new-task path. Each repeats startProgress → sendPrompt → context construction, and this mutable progress variable ties them together. Suggest splitting out a resolveTarget() that either looks up the thread or creates the session and thread, and returns { sessionId, replyChannelId, context }. One shared tail then handles progress, the prompt, and the error path, and both this variable and the duplicated block go away.

Nit: the get<string[]> cast trusts whatever is in KV. Every other KV read in this package validates with zod. It would also need to change if the cache stores structured repos (see the comment on task.ts:78).

With four integrations, source routing should become a table instead of another ternary. This file also branches on source === "linear" in three other places to choose payload schemas, so Discord payloads get no validation on the control-plane side. Suggest one per-source descriptor:
const CALLBACK_ROUTES: Partial<Record<MessageSource, {
destination: CallbackDestination;
binding: keyof CallbackServiceEnv;
completionSchema?: ZodType;
toolCallSchema?: ZodType;
}>> = { … };Slack stays as the fallback. With this, adding a bot is one table entry, and Discord payloads go through the same validation as Linear's.

This regex repeats ACTOR_NAMESPACES, and so do the provider unions in ResolvedIdentity and ProviderIdentity. That's part of why adding one bot meant editing about 15 control-plane locations. Could these be derived from ACTOR_NAMESPACES / isActorNamespace?

Nit: "the dev role" is hard-coded, but the allowed role IDs are configurable, so the role may not be called that.

Requesting changes based on the review above (#2045 (review)). The blockers are:
- The progress status key is per session instead of per prompt, which breaks follow-ups sent while a prompt is running.
- Logic that already has a canonical home is duplicated (callback payload schemas, tool-name normalisation, repo owner/name split, harness default).
- Control-plane callback routing uses a nested ternary, and Discord callbacks aren't validated by the control plane.
