Hanging Executable on Hyprland

After building and running drg_mod_integration, it hangs and I need to terminate it. I'm getting the error "interface 'wl_surface' has no event 2". When I try and force run drg_mod_integration using X11, it still hangs.

I get the same error after building openssl1.1 specifically to run this.

I'm getting the same issue on multiple PCs. I'm on Plasma KDE and I have tried both on X11 and Wayland. This is my error log:

When running mod integration through a cli, this is my output:

Chiming in to say I'm getting the same error on Plasma KDE under Wayland.

i found a way to fix it but it is very much convoluted and this was... painful to use on linux. to say the least.
running it with the following command from terminal on my setup (nobara 42, openssl compat installed) works:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=~/opt/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY ./drg_mod_integration

I am not sure if there is any simpler way to run this than to do that every time you run the program.
why not just serve an .appimage i don't know. your decision how you package it but what's the point if theres literally no guidance whatsoever to get it running on modern linux systems?
