Hi,

I´ve just bought some cheap remote switches at a local store. I already had a few from elro which are working really good with PiSwitch, but the new ones are different.

They do not have the 10-DIP Switch. They have a 4-Char code printed on the device and a device id. I found some hints, that theses switches should work with pilight. The protocol is called kaku_switch_old.

Would it be possible to implement this protocol into PiSwitch?

kaku_switch_old seems to be an alias for or an instace of arctech_switch_old (source code, wiki). From the looks of it, it’s quite simple and similar to the existing protocols / schemes.

So yes, it should be straightforward to add this to PiSwitch by adding corresponding entries to dict.js.

If you want to pursue this further, I’d be glad to guide you through the process.

• We need more details about your outlets: Brand, model number, link to a picture, the exact code on the outlet.
• Does PiSwitch run at all on your Pi (I haven’t used it in a while and there have been reports of wiring-pi not working)? Attach a LED plus resistor in place of the sender and see whether it flickers when sending any code.
• You could verify that your outlets actually work with the Pilight protocol implementation.

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I really would like to take this road ;).. I´ve seen that pilight should be able control those switches. I´ve found a reference on this page: http://rpi-controlcenter.de/showthread.php?tid=27 post 5/6.

I am already using PiSwith with my ELRO Switches and its working really good, I am using it with mqtt and openhab to activate some lights in my living room.

I will try to test pilight this weekend and it would be awesome if you could guide me to implement these into piswitch.
