Hide Navigation Buttons when app is open

People who use gesture navigation get a full screen app, but people using the three navigation buttons may get a bright white bottom bar.

This may be related to devices with a notch or other cutouts.

For example, the app does not cover the status bar area on the Pixel 4a which has a camera cutout.
