Erratic touchpad scrolling since recent update (Touchpad only, mouse is fine)

Steps to reproduce

1. Scroll any chat / chat list, using the laptop touchpad.

Expected behaviour

Touchpad scrolling should be smooth, linear, and predictable. Scrolling down should move the viewport down, and kinetic scrolling should decay smoothly in the same direction without sudden jumps or direction reversals.

Actual behaviour

Touchpad scrolling is completely broken:

• Scrolling causes the chat to jump back in the opposite direction (rubber-banding) or fly randomly into the history, or jumps excessively..
• The issue occurs ONLY when using the touchpad. Scrolling with a mouse wheel works perfectly fine.
• This is NOT a hardware issue: the touchpad works flawlessly in all other applications on the system.

I'm not sure what you mean by each of these? Can you record a video for each problem? I assume either of "fly randomly into the history" or "jumps excessively" is for scrolling continuing while loading older messages.

Same here. The scrolling is very choppy and erratic. After the 20-second mark, it starts jumping several days at once.

Here is a video demonstrating the bugs.

Right at the beginning (00:01), there is an issue with channel switching. When I make a very slight gesture on the touchpad to switch channels (which shouldn't trigger a full channel switch at all), the movement is heavily amplified, causing the channel to switch.

The second bug (at 00:05): It seems like the coordinate tracking or focus point is lost. When I touch the touchpad and start scrolling, the focus immediately jumps slightly upward (in the video, it jumps about 3 posts up). This does not seem to be related to the standard "unread posts" positioning, because if it were, I would land 3 posts higher immediately upon entering the channel. Instead, the jump occurs specifically when I move my finger on the touchpad.

The third issue captured here (at 00:23) is fast, accelerated scrolling. In this instance, I was scrolling at a normal pace without flicking my finger, but as shown in the video, the scroll acceleration triggered unexpectedly twice. All of these issues are specific to touchpad use and, importantly, did not occur before the latest update (7.0.1).

While these are not critical bugs and everything works correctly when using a mouse they still cause some minor inconvenience and discomfort during use.

Additionally, the video posted above by @gearonixx shows another bug I have encountered but was unable to capture properly. When scrolling up with the touchpad (for example, to open Stories) and trying to scroll back down without lifting the finger, the gesture fails. A blank gap appears, and the interface stops responding to downward scrolling, forcing the user to lift their finger and start the gesture again.

I hope I was able to explain everything as clearly as possible.

The bug with the deactivation window most likely still persists, and I can reproduce it again.
It seems to reproduce specifically when the user has no stories. If the user doesn't have any stories, the bug remains.
To be precise, there are actually two separate bugs here:

1. Scrolling in the chat list, the gap that appears where the stories block would normally, which breaks the downward scroll gesture.
2. Deactivation window, on deactivation, the scroll state somehow persists and stays "stuck" in the app instead of being reset.
   I've attached a screenshot showing the empty gap in the chat list.

I have no stories but I'm unable to reproduce that.

I don't imagine how one can deactivate window before scrolling reaches inactive state naturally
