Hello! I saw your project in Reddit/Fossdroid and played it with it a bit on two Surfaces: A 3 Pro and a 4. Very nice so far!

However, WiFi works fine in the USB installer but not after installation and boot. I used a USB Ethernet dongle to patch it and reboot, no dice. Any ideas?

If this fixed wifi for you, please open an issue so we have it on record in case another surface 3/4 owner got an image before the update.

Worked perfectly on both MS Surface Pro 3 & Pro 4. I'll put in a ticket for posterity.

Great! Just finished the latest build with that fix and some minor improvements. If you have time for testing, I'd love some feedback on the SP3 & 4. mobile-tweaks-common should fix the lag produced while switching backgrounds or light/dark mode. Didn't notice any issues with power-profiles-daemon on the SP6/7 and 6.19.8-3.

WiFi/Bluetooth worked right after install on Pro 3. No hardware issues that I can find. I'll play with it this week, and also on Pro 4.

I like the Pro 3 because it has the Windows button "physically" on the right side of the screen, but it is significantly slower than anything else I have. Seems to be OK for web browsing in Firefox. I'll try the Spotify app, but it has been pretty laggy with other distros on this hardware (i3-4020Y, 4GB RAM !!!).

Is there a way to wake the PC up with a touchscreen "tap"? Or is that a hardware limitation?

Okay, good. I'm still worried about systemd-resolved.

I suspect that during the installation, especially if wifi is connected, /etc/resolv.conf migrates which might break DNS on the host until network-manager eventually overrides it.

Might need to fix this:

sudo ln -sf /run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf

When you connect to wifi on the installer, does name resolution immediately work on the host system, after installation?

Good question, I'm not sure.

C-states and the intel daemon that controls touch inputs would be a start, I guess.

I think there was an issue about this on the surface-kernel git, I'll check.
