📢 Community Update: The Road to AAIF & Open Source Governance

Hello contributors & builders,

As part of our commitment to building an open, vendor-neutral memory layer for the AI ecosystem, we are officially beginning the transition to fully open-source Spector Core under the Apache 2.0 license and preparing our application to become an official Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) hosted project under the Linux Foundation.

What is changing in this repository:

• License: All core engine modules are being reviewed and harmonized under Apache 2.0.
• Developer Certificate of Origin (DCO): We will require signed commits (git commit -s) on all incoming PRs.
• Open Governance: We are adding GOVERNANCE.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, and an open RFC workflow for major architectural changes.
• Public 6–12 Month Roadmap: A detailed ROADMAP.md aligned with AAIF agent interoperability goals will be published shortly.

How you can participate:

1. Review our open issues labeled good first issue and help wanted.
2. Test our native MCP server integration with your favorite agent frameworks (e.g. Goose, Claude, Cursor).
3. Drop your thoughts, benchmark requests, or feature proposals in this discussion thread!
