Date: December 2004 (also a November 2004 preliminary round) Format: Attack-Defense Teams: 6+ international university teams
The theme of the 2004 iCTF was a futuristic world-wide voting event sponsored by the United Nations. Teams competed in an attack-defense format centered on services representing a global online election system — voting infrastructure, discussion boards, and authentication services for a fictional U.N. General Assembly vote.
The competition had serious performance problems, resulting in a partially-successful game. Because of this, a rematch was organized for June 2005 — see ictf04-05.
Teams came from:
- UC Santa Barbara (ucsb)
- North Carolina State University (ncsu)
- Politecnico di Milano (Polimi)
- Polytechnic University Brooklyn (BrooklynPoly)
- University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (uiuc)
- West Point (usma)
