Another good idea! So how would you like to do this? Drag & drop is not really good for usability. Have a "Merge code into other code" in the code "hamburger" menu? So I would click on the menu of "the code i want to merge" and select "Merge code into other code" and then have a selection to choose from a list of codes (from this codebook)? We are not really to wild about inter-codebook-crossover-mergers, as this is much more complicated. But is there a good use case for that, too? |

and then there is "split code into (sub)codes" as well… right now I think we should "code merge" first. Easiest way would be to "merge subcodes into parent code" - so to merge codes into a new or existing code A_to_be_merged_in, you just make all the codes to be merged a child code of A_to_be_merged_in: A_to_be_merged_in (0 selections)
then I click on "Merge subcodes" (this is a kind of destructive action, so we really need to ask the user to be sure) becomes A_to_be_merged_in (16 selections) |

Hi,
I also have an idea for another feature. It would be great if one could merge two or more codes. This is relevant if you have accidentally created duplicate codes or if two codes are not sufficiently distinct in the first coding step and need to be merged.
best regards
