Settings Sync

I can't find any relevant page about what browserOS login synchronizes. On the Chrome settings page there is no login, but if I log into browserOS, I can't select anything. Does it synchronize browser settings and extensions? If not, what is the way to do this? I use 3 machines, I wouldn't like to set up my entire workflow separately on each of them. However, in the browser it's not clear to me where I should resolve this. Or is this completely degoogled, so there is no sync at all?

Good question. The short version: BrowserOS is de-googled, so there's no Google account sync — that's why you don't see the usual Chrome sign-in or sync toggles.

What signing into BrowserOS does sync is deliberately narrow, and that's by design — we're privacy-conscious, so we only sync what's actually necessary rather than vacuuming up your whole browser. Today that's your BrowserOS settings: conversations, your AI model/provider config, and scheduled tasks. Set them up once and they follow you across your 3 machines. What it does not sync is Chrome-level stuff: browser settings, extensions, bookmarks, passwords. Part of that is the de-googling, and part is the same privacy stance — we'd rather not hold a synced copy of all of it. So for now you'd set those up per machine; for extensions there's no one-click sync.

Out of curiosity, what's the most painful part to redo on each machine — the extensions, the bookmarks, or the agent/model setup? That helps me see where syncing more would actually be worth it against the privacy tradeoff.
