First off, it's need to ensure that removal of original Android code is not means removal of compatibility for Android applications.

Okay, I checked, that Harmony OS NEXT is really meant to be incompatible to Android apps and it supports only natively built applications. Actually, to support that first off it's needed the related support onn the SDL2 side first. Second, it's a chance that this OS won't get popular because of no backward compatibility to old content, and Android compatibility wins.

Interesting. Anyway, there are lot of apps (like mine) that never use any proprietary dependencies (like Google Services or something also), and they should work just fine on plain AOSP.

Actually, to debug this, first I need the VM image and development toolkit (primarily for Linux-based workstation) to compile and verify the workflow. Additionally I will need to know some platform specific features, like how the work with file system is done, are any kind of permissions/security system that need to be dodged, how user is able to supply custom resources to the app, and how packages are done, etc...
