The GitOps Working Group guides the OpenGitOps project, and has several teams of volunteers who focus on specific things for both the WG and project. One of these is the GWG communications team. I'd like to formalize this as part of the ongoing OpenGitOps project. We may want to call it the OpenGitOps "media" team to more clearly distinguish from an "events" team if we carry that over too.
One value of solidifying this is we need a secure way to share media account credentials with people helping in this area (for now we agreed to tweet things relevant to OpenGitOps from the @OpenGitOps twitter account, and RT from the @GitOpsWG twitter). We now have a 1password support for an OSS account for OpenGitOps, and I would like to make a vault so specific trusted volunteers who handle this can securely share the credentials.
Another value is contributor visibility. In order to be on a GitHub org team, you must be part of that org. This will allow members of this team to opt-in to displaying their membership in the OpenGitOps project GitHub org.
