Every time I log out of a session and return to the greeter screen, there is a chance that the keyboard will stop working entirely (pressing any key yields no reaction). However, the mouse cursor still functions normally, and I can click the buttons on the greeter interface.
Unfortunately, I cannot find any consistent steps to reproduce the issue.
