Hello,
I am currently using baramFlow on Windows and overall the GUI works very well for setting up and running simulations.
However, I would like to use the OpenFOAM/NextFOAM feature vectorSemiImplicitSource to implement a custom momentum source. I could not find an equivalent option in the baramFlow GUI.
As a workaround, I tried manually editing the case file:
to add the vectorSemiImplicitSource entry directly. Unfortunately, when I start the simulation from the baramFlow GUI, the file appears to be regenerated and my modifications are overwritten before the solver starts.
Since I am working on Windows, the baramFlow GUI provides a very convenient workflow, and I would prefer to avoid running NextFOAM directly via WSL or a virtual machine.
My questions are:
- Is there currently any way to use
vectorSemiImplicitSource with the baram Windows build while still launching the simulation from baramFlow?
- Is there a way to prevent baramFlow from overwriting
fvOptions, or to include custom entries that the GUI does not yet support?
- Are there plans to expose more advanced
fvOptions models in the GUI or allow custom fvOptions blocks?
More generally, it would be very useful if baramFlow allowed users to extend the physics with custom OpenFOAM features while still benefiting from the GUI-based workflow.
Best regards
