How to fix this error the model catalog changed after startup, and overrides are currently prohibited until Codex restarts. keeps happening even if i restrast codex. Tested multiple times.

@sushmitxo Could you try fully killing all Codex processes first, not just restarting the UI/session?

On Windows:

Get-Process *codex* -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue | Stop-Process -Force

Then start Codex again and check if the error still appears.

Also, are you using model_catalog_json or anything that modifies ~/.codex/models_cache.json?

If it still happens immediately after a completely fresh Codex process starts, then this sounds reproducible and likely needs investigation on our side.
