Recognize escape as meta?

I noticed that, unlike emacs, tapping the escape key can't be used as a substitute for holding down alt. I was just wondering, is this a preference of the developers, an oversight, or just something that hasn't yet been a priority to replicate? In emacs, I frequently use escape for the meta key, so it tripped me up when I noticed it doesn't work in Lem. Thanks.

Hello, it's surely all of the above, anyways you are probably a snippet away to add this behavior. On SDL2 you could look at #858 on the other frontends, that remains to be seen.
