Is playing local files a feature?

Hi,
I'm setting up my Linux installation and I would like a Spotify client that isn't the official one. I have narrowed it down to two projects, this one and another one.
My question is: since the official client supports adding local files to Spotify, including to playlists, is a feature like this a part of spotify-qt?

The main issue is that spotify-qt doesn't do any actual playback on its own, instead relying on librespot for it, which AFAIK, doesn't support playing back local files. Even if it did, I don't think the Spotify API supports it, so it wouldn't work either way.

I know it could be possible to implement it in a way where local files are handled by spotify-qt and streamed files are handled by librespot, but that doesn't sound like a very nice user experience to me.
