In Edge under edge://settings/appearance, I configured it to use the dark (black) theme. Web sites will use whatever colors they choose, but I prefer a dark theme for the internal docs (about:, edge:, chrome:). I have this extension redirect to about:blank to get a blank new tab. I get a blank tab, but it is a garrish white, and hard on my eyes with all that light blaring into them. Hardly a subdued blank page. For internal pages, this extension should comply to the colors the user configured in the web browser. While I am only interested in following the background color (system, light, or dark), others might want to have this extension follow whatever appearance theme was configured in the web browser.
