A map for filter coffee fans in south Bangalore, that guides them to places that serve great filter coffee.

Mental model sketch:

The green represents the green line of the metro. Each stop acts as a landmark, and these act as reference points in my own mind that help me figure out the locations of these places.

I thought this one turned out a little confusing. Although I tried to make it such that the name of the shop would be written on the side of the road it was, it wasn't intuitive. It was quite crowded, and also it didn't capture the angle of the road.

Reading Corners of Pune

Where
Reading corners of Pune like book cafes, public libraries and outdoor reading spots are scattered across the city in areas like FC Road, Deccan and Kothrud.

Why
Pune has a connection with books and reading, but these spaces are scattered and often known only in pockets. A schematic map can bring them together into one visual, helping people discover cafes, libraries, and outdoor spots as part of a larger reading culture.

Who?
Reading enthusiasts exploring community driven and alternative reading spaces.
Locals who enjoy book cafés, libraries or outdoor reading.
Visitors who want to experience Pune’s cultural vibe beyond monuments and food.

Reminiscence of the Past: The Temple City Trichy

What

Temples in and around Tiruchirappalli. A guide to visiting temples (with their historical age) in a week → including stay, bus routes, and food.

Why

Trichy is a very old city with a lot of remnants of the past. From dams that are 2,000 years old to temples built over 1,000 years ago during the Chola Dynasty, the city carries a deep historical legacy.

Who

Many people visit Trichy for the Srirangam Temple, but they often miss other temples that are just as old or even older than Srirangam. There are several places here that make you pause, reflect, or simply sit and enjoy the unhurried rhythm of the world.

A Constellation of Faith: The Navnath Temples of Vadodara

What
The Navnath Temples are nine ancient shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, believed to have been founded by Rishi Vishwamitra. This schematic pilgrimage map traces the Kaavad Yatra, a sacred journey during Shravan when devotees visit all nine temples, revealing the city’s hidden spiritual routes.

Why
Beyond its royal palaces and museums, Vadodara holds a quieter spiritual legacy. The Navnath temples, many along the Vishwamitri River, carry legends tied to Vishwamitra and were revived by the Gaekwad rulers in the 19th century. Together, they form a journey through space and time, inviting reflection on the city’s layered history.

Who
This map is for pilgrims, seekers, and history lovers who want to look beyond the familiar landmarks. It is a guide to experiencing Vadodara through one of its oldest traditions and the enduring devotion of the Kaavad Yatra.

Who & Why: For people looking for affordable food spots, Prayagraj is a city full of migrant students who come from neighbouring villages to study, and all of the coaching centres are around civil lines. This is to recommend people the best and cheapest food around civil lines.

Gates of Aurangabad (WIP)

Aurangabad is the city of gates, the urban legend is the city once had बावन दरवाजे (52 gates), only a handful of them exist now, with the old city fortification. I would like to emphasize on Delhi and Paithan gate, as those are very directional and give a sense where you are in the city and in India.

I wanna make a map for the gates so people can hopefully visit them, perhaps a fortifications circuit around the city; like I used to cycle around and through them.

• This basically has the whole city, for my reference and the roads I use.

• The main arteries of Aurangabad are in black, in grey the roads in between, and all the green and blue (garden/lake river) places are marked
• yellow are the gates, the ones I remember and could find on the internet/ satellite view
• the dotted red is the historical fortificaiton of the city, barely any of it exists, I could show the one that exists in a different way.

• I think I sucessfully showed the directionality of the gates as I wished for.
• The gates very much act like a landmark in the city, but some of them get generalized for a place, like Roshan gate is a little hidden, but the whole locality is called roshan gate, so I hope this map will clarify where exactly gates are in the city.

FInal

• Added areas as mentioned in review, It makes so much more sense now, I can see how the planned section of CIDCO was sectioned off, very insightful
• Also moved Delhi Gate out of the old city walls, a friend from aurangabad I showed this to, informed me, delhi gate was more of a symbolic one and stood outside the main wall, I don't understand how that works, but I added his suggestion nonetheless, it's more accurate to the real location now.
• Also expanded Himyat Bagh.
• Had the most fun doing this assignment

Who - People intrigued by history and cultural heritage will find Muziris captivating. It’s a day out for anyone wishing to walk through traces of a city that once connected worlds, experiencing how the past continues to shape Kerala’s identity today.
