Is this crate still maintained?

The last release is from 2021, and it has increasingly outdated dependencies (including some related to cryptography, like hmac, md-5, and sha2). I see that a number of changes has accumulated since v3.0.0 was published - including updates to newer versions of the RustCrypto crate dependencies.

It looks like #63 already asked for a new release with those changes over two years ago. But neither a new release (nor any activity on the "main" branch, for that matter) seems to have occurred here in the last ~3 years.

TL;DR: So ... should this crate still be considered "maintained"?
