You're not missing anything: from the current source there's no delete action for recordings, no retention setting and no automatic cleanup. Even deleting a project leaves its recordings in place ("Delete this project? Your recordings are kept."). Recordings are only removed when a take is discarded or fails. A few details that help with a cleanup script:
For example, to remove takes older than 30 days: dir=~/.config/openscreen/recordings
find "$dir" -maxdepth 1 -name 'recording-*.mp4' -mtime +30 -print | while read -r f; do
rm -v -- "$f" "$f.cursor.json" 2>/dev/null
doneBe careful with recordings that a project still uses: deleting a project doesn't delete its recordings, so projects point at these files rather than owning a copy. Removing a file a project still references will most likely leave that project with a missing clip. |

Hi!
Many thanks for building such a great tool!
I couldn't find an option to delete old recordings or run a cleanup. I'm using this Ubuntu Bash script. Am I missing something?
Best regards,
Manuel Alves
