Description

I have noticed a while ago that my Ente Auth records on my macOS desktop are not in sync with mobile, but I brushed it off as some intermittent sync issue since the desktop app says "connected to 10.x.x.x" in the status bar.

Today I looked into it deepr and turns out that the message is misleading. First I noticed that opening 'Active Sessions' fails with "Failed to fetch active sessions", so I looked into the log file and can see:

[AuthUtil][INFO] [2025-12-29 13:40:41.526555] Requesting authentication
[AuthenticatorService][SEVERE] [2025-12-29 13:40:41.547804] Failed to sync with remote
⤷ id: 1750ec39-fc3c-49ab-9172-cf3b46703253
⤷ type: DioExceptionType.unknown
⤷ error: DioException [unknown]: null
Error: NSErrorClientException: Could not connect to the server. [domain=NSURLErrorDomain, code=-1004], uri=http://10.x.x.x:8080/authenticator/entity/diff?sinceTime=1746484111564774&limit=500

So not only is there no visual indication of connection issues in the app, it explicitly suggests the contrary.
