My first Claude Code experience was PAI v5.0. It implements so many things that I had been struggling to accomplish with hacky Claude.ai projects with md memories. But, as an Ubuntu user, it has been constant tinkering! I am not as organized on the list of patches, but I do very much appreciate its ability to patch itself. Even better than PAI-on-Claude is that PAI skills and the algorithm can largely be run on Codex (useful when out of tokens). |

I'm a very new PAI user and migrated to 5.0 before I had managed to get 4.0.3 properly working for me. I've recently started figuring out how to "fix" things that my DA and I have identified as being "not working the way they should" – found lots of useful material here in the issues, pull requests, discussions.
I'm keeping a running list of things we've "patched" and thought I'd share it in case it came in handy for anyone: https://github.com/stephtara/PAI-things/blob/main/Stephs-fixes-to-PAI-v5.0.md
My reasoning: imagine I'm installing PAI on a friend's computer to get them on board, here's what I'd do in addition to just running the installer. I've tried to keep it concise but clear enough that you should be able to ask your DA to walk you through the fixes and apply them – but no guarantees. I know just enough to be dangerous!
I'm quite new at this kind of stuff so feel free to let me know if you have feedback, see mistakes, suggestions, etc.
I'm going to continue working my way through PRs and issues and problems I stumble into and will keep the file updated. I'm also working on a few skills for my personal use that I want to make available to others – when they're ready enough (we're far from that) I'll put them in my PAI Things repo.
