@martin-braun

cargo implies to be a dependency installer, because it is related to "delivering packages", since it describes the load (noun) to be delivered around the world. Simply substituting this with crabgo is not very creative++, as it represents a different meaning from the original (a crab that goes?).

Some ideas out of my head that would imply it to be a package manager / dependency installer:

  • crabpack (installs packages for the crablang)
  • barrel (a barrel can be cargo)
  • vessel (a ship, that ships dependencies)

I'm surely not that creative either, but turning cargo into crabgo feels somewhat too simple and making it more of a meme than I wish it to be, but I don't know if it is too late to reconsider this decision, now.
