how to install on windows

I've tried both windows versions - they're not executables or zips - what sort of file are they?
I've also tried running both linux versions in Windows 10 Linux Subsystem but with errors...

The windows amd64 build should be a valid 64 bit executable, albeit without the exe extension. I don't think I ever run it on windows, but the build system is just setting GOOS and GOARCH: https://github.com/Mikulas/kubectl-repl/blob/master/release.sh

On the linux subsystem I believe you would have to execute the linux-amd64 build.

ok, got it to execute by adding .exe to the end.. but it fails immediately since it depends in /bin/sh

WSL linux also fails

$ ./kubectl-repl-linux-amd64-1.4

I see, that is an additional reason for #2 then. I don't think anybody is using this windows so it never came up before. You can probably bypass it by symlinking the shell to /bin/sh, but frankly I would recommend using a docker version instead until #2 is resolved.
