Flaky test TestReadKey?

TestReadKey running in #1896 seems flaky on Github Action runners.

To Reproduce
I haven't been able to reproduce locally on Mac or on docker with Ubuntu, but it seems to reproduce 50% on Github runners.

Expected behavior
Either it works or it doesn't :-)

Updating golang to 1.26 was suggested already in #1876 but was rejected. I'm gonna try to find out more about this flaky test, but until then I suppose the github actions will fail.

Thanks for the note. To clarify: this wasn’t rejected—we’re already on 1.26, and today we’re bumping to 1.26.2.

We’re updating the Go version only after we’ve run our usual internal checks. For that reason we’re not exposing this as a user-configurable bump: we don’t want to ship a Go version we haven’t validated through our internal test process.
